Call for Submissions
Submit your work to #Cultures 2026 and take part in an international online forum dedicated to cultures, conflicts, mobilities and pluralities in the 21st century.
Registration is required for presenters.
Authors who intend to submit a work must complete presenter registration before the final deadline. Submissions are accepted through the system, but approved works are only confirmed in the program after the corresponding registration is completed.
Overview
CLAEC and Scientia International invite researchers, faculty, artists, cultural managers, educators, curators, activists and cultural agents from any country or region to submit works to #Cultures 2026.
All authors must complete presenter registration in order to confirm their participation in the congress program and the digital proceedings.
An expanded call for cultural studies
The scientific program is open to different forms of knowledge production and cultural expression, provided that each proposal includes the textual support necessary for scientific publication and circulation.

Cultures in the Reconfiguration of World Order: Conflicts, Mobilities and Pluralities in the 21st Century
#Cultures 2026 proposes a critical, interdisciplinary and international reading of how conflicts, migrations, digital technologies, symbolic economies, identities, memories and territorialities are being reshaped in a changing world order.

Submitted works must be connected to one of the eight thematic axes of the congress.

Submission formats
All submissions, regardless of their scientific, artistic, pedagogical or professional nature, must be accompanied by textual support suitable for publication in the digital proceedings.
Format 1. Research paper
Academic work in progress or completed. Textual support: extended abstract of 800 to 1,500 words, excluding references, with introduction, objectives, methodology, results and references.
Format 2. Experience report
Reflective account of a professional, institutional or community experience in the field of cultures. Textual support: 800 to 1,200 words.
Format 3. Cultural practice
Presentation of a policy, project, action or practice developed by managers, producers, curators, collectives, movements or institutions. Textual support: 800 to 1,200 words, with optional complementary documentation after approval.
Format 4. Critical essay
Authorial reflection on cultures without a strict academic format. Suitable for cultural journalists, critics, curators and public intellectuals. Textual support: 800 to 1,500 words.
Format 5. Pedagogical letter
Reflective text on pedagogical, educational or formative practices in the field of cultures. Textual support: 600 to 1,000 words.
Format 6. Artistic creation
Presentation of a work, creative process or artistic investigation. Textual support: descriptive memorial or presentation text of 600 to 1,000 words, with mandatory original material after approval.
Format 7. Performance or intervention
Live online presentation of a performance, scenic, musical or bodily intervention. Textual support: 400 to 800 words, with a mandatory technical proposal after approval.
Formatting and language guidelines
Formatting
- Microsoft Word compatible file, .doc or .docx.
- Times New Roman, size 12.
- 1.5 line spacing.
- 2.5 cm margins on all sides.
- First line indent of 1.25 cm.
- Justified alignment.
- APA 7th edition references and citations.
Mandatory elements
- Title of the work, maximum 150 characters.
- Abstract in Portuguese or Spanish and in English, 150 to 250 words each.
- Three to five keywords in both languages of the abstract.
- Body of the text according to the chosen format.
- References at the end, according to APA 7th edition.
- No author identification in the file itself, to ensure blind review.
Languages
Works may be submitted in any language. Portuguese, Spanish, English and French are recommended to expand international circulation and accessibility.
Peer review and results
All submitted works undergo blind peer review coordinated by the Scientific Committees of each thematic axis.
Evaluation criteria
- Relevance and originality of the contribution.
- Coherence with the thematic axis and the central theme.
- Argumentative, methodological or creative quality.
- Clarity and consistency of the textual support.
- Adequacy to the declared format and guidelines.
Possible outcomes
- Approved.
- Approved with adjustments, with 15 days for revision.
- Not approved, with a reasoned justification.
Presentation, publication and certification
Presentation
Approved works are presented in thematic sessions of 4 to 5 works, with 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for debate, fully online.
Publication
Approved and presented works are published in the digital proceedings of #Cultures 2026 with individual DOI. Publication is scheduled for April 2027.
Post-event opportunities
Highlighted works may be invited for full article submission to partner journals, RELACult thematic issues and bilingual e-books organized by thematic axis.
Registration fees and discounts
Participation in the congress is subject to a registration fee, which supports the digital platform, proceedings publication and DOI assignment.

Discounts
- Research4Life Group A and B discounts, according to country of institutional affiliation.
- 40 percent discount for CLAEC associates and participants affiliated with formal institutional partners of the congress.
- Discounts are not cumulative. The highest applicable discount is used.
Important notes
- Presenter registration closes on August 31, 2026.
- Listener registration remains open until October 1, 2026.
- Each registration covers up to two presented works by the same author.
- Approved works are removed from the program and proceedings if presenter registration is not completed by the deadline.
